Day 1
Our tour guide will meet you and pick you from the Kochi Airport. We drive to a farm house facing the picturesque Vembanad Lake. Stay is planned in the home stay in this farm.
The rest of the day is sent exploring the farm, fishing in the ponds, boating in the canals inside the farm and bird watching on the Vembanad lake.
Vembanad Lake is India’s longest lake and as many as 10 rivers feed into it. It is a haven for birds and popular sightings include waterfowl, cuckoo, owl, egret, heron, migratory Siberian cranes, parrots, teal, larks, flycatchers and wood beetle.
Day 2
Today we take a leisurely ride in a small boat through the canals that feed into the backwaters of Kerala. We will ride past villages along the banks of the canals. This ride will give a glimpse of life along the backwaters.
During the tour we will meet and interact with weavers of coir mats who make a living making these incredibly beautiful and comfortable hand woven mats.
Day 3
A boat ride through the Vembanad Lake is an unforgettable experience. We take a leisurely ride around the Lake.
