Lepakshi is a Architectural marvel of the Vijayanagara Empire. Located in Andhra Pradesh, just 120 KMs north of Bangalore, Lepakshi is a treasure trove of temples, sculptures, paintings and other works of art. India’s largest Nandi Bull statue beckons us at Lepakshi. Made from a single granite block this statue stands 15 feet tall and 27 feet long. The 16th century Veerabhadra Temple is another masterpiece at Lepakshi. One of the highlights of Lepakshi is the exquisite collection of paintings on the walls of the temple. The paintings of Lepakshi follow a unique style with elegant line-work set against an orange-red background.
